Psychology is popular with students who have an interest in science subjects. The course is very practical, with students conducting their own experiments in a range of psychological fields. Our latest experiments investigated memory improvement techniques and another tested the idea: ‘Do dogs look like their owners?’

Students who take Psychology are introduced to a range of key psychological areas, memory, research methods, childhood attachments, conformity and obedience, mental health and stress. At A2, students can choose from a range of topics with relationships, eating behaviour, aggression and addiction being popular choices.

Students have an opportunity to attend exam board conferences and other extra-curricular activities.  Psychology students were very successful last year, many students went on to universities all over the country to study Psychology, Forensic Science and Psychology and Education.
